The Baltimore-Washington Chapter (BWC) wrapped up 2011 with a seminar on "Green Preservation and Sustain-ability in Construction," co-sponsored by APT-DC. The full-day seminar was well-attended, with more than 70 design professionals, contractors, material representatives, and owners. The chapter also sponsored four students and their instructor from the local Carver High School. The first set of presentation topics included "Green Preservation and Cost Analysis for Sustainable Preservation," presented by Tom Whitmore, Project Engineer of the Christman Company; "Air Vapor-Moisture Barrier in Green Construction," offered by Marry Fischer, VP of PPSI; and finally, "Protecting Assets-Water & Moister Design Consideration in Concrete & Mortar Repair Materials," given by Dave Dennsteadt and Dr. David Darwin.
