Project management software has played a major role in the creation of a "Cultural Quarter" in Stoke on Trent. The project by Stoke on Trent City Council to create a new cultural quarter within the Hanley district of the city centre has involved the refurbishment of two of its existing historical buildings, the Victoria Hall and the Regent Theatre. The aim of the project is to generate night-life and generally enliven that area of the city centre, which suffered decline following the construction of a new shopping centre at the opposite end of the city ten years ago. Norwest Hoist are responsible for the co-ordination and management of the 70 works package contractors involved on this project, to whom all of the work is being sub-let.
