In recent decades, public-private partnerships (PPPs) have gained prominence globally as an alternative delivery system in the provision of infrastructure and public services. The recent nationwide rolling out of PPPs in the USA (US Department of the Treasury, 2014) and China presages the prosperity of PPP markets in the years to come. Buttressed by the National Audit Office (National Audit Office, 2015), the moribund UK Private Finance Initiative (PFI) market may also see a turnaround after the general election in May 2015. The publication of this book is well timed for the new wave of PPP investment.
