Loud noise is common on construction projects, and noise-induced hearing loss is a serious problem in Ontario's construction industry.rnOf all occupational diseases in the industry, it accounts for the highest number of accepted permanent disability claims to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Thousands of Ontario workers have trouble hearing because of noise exposure on construction projects.rnNoise-induced hearing loss develops gradually and is irreversible. There is no cure. It is, however, 100% preventable.
