摘要

The NGB perspective on comparative corporate governance remains in its infancy. The articles and commentaries included in this special issue demonstrate the promise of NGBs, and also hint at how much empirical and theoretical work remains to be done. Taken as a whole, they show how attention to the interplay between firm- and country-level governance mechanisms enriches our understanding of comparative corporate governance and helps to identify how and why governance practices vary both across and within national systems. We hope that this special issue will encourage other researchers to adopt and further develop the NGB perspective in their own work, and that the articles presented here will inspire new ideas, approaches, and debates.
