There appears to be a dichotomy in Agile adoption worldwide. After briefly walking through this dichotomy, this article explores how a directional selection approach encompassing mindset, the human aspect, collaboration frameworks, and methods can help organizations evolve. Google Trends data suggests that, as of March 2020, the search popularity of the term "Agile" had grown from 28% to 73% over the prior 16 years (see Figure 1),~1 while the search popularity of "scaled Agile" had grown from 1% to 92% in just seven years (see Figure 2).~2 The impressive growth of searches relating to scaling Agile demand is an indicator of the strong need to improve processes and results at large organizations.
