The predictive values of a combination of different chromosomal abnormalities as well as genetic mutations in Ph+ patients with chronic myeloid leukemia are studied. A total of 49 cytogenetic studies of bone marrow aspirate from 35 patients (11 observed dynamically) were conducted. Additional chromosomal abnormalities were discovered in 25.07% of the cases, approximately 80% of the abnormalities appearing in the blast crisis stage. At the blast crisis stage the extra Ph chromosome and trisomy of chromosomes 8 and 19 were the most frequent secondary chromosomal abnormality. The appearance of clonal variety of cells and a high rate of genomic mutations and microchromosomes had negative predictive value as regards the course of the illness.
