摘要

The present review deals with issues of biological (cytogenetic) dosimetry and indication of the degree of radiation injury based on analysis of unstable aberrations of chromosomes in human blood lymphocytes. We have also considered criteria, which determine the use of lymphocyte culture of human peripheral blood as an informative and actual indicator of radiation injury. We pay much attention to effects produced by low-level radiation doses in chromosomes and discuss methodology of interpreting the nature of dose cytogenetic curves. Traditional cytogenetic analysis (in terms of stable chromosomal aberrations) is a basic tool for cytogenetic monitoring in groups of people accidentally exposed to radiation and identification of groups of high risk of pathology including oncological one.
