Given the high prevalence of overweight, nutrient shortfalls, and sedentary lifestyles among our nation's youth, the need to improve their health has never been greater. The School Milk Pilot Test demonstrated that there is unmet demand for dairy products among the nation's youth in schools. The U.S. dairy farmer-funded National Dairy Council is a resource for programs that support implementation of school wellness policies as well as programs and partnerships directed towards increasing the sales and demand of dairy products through dairy product innovation and nutrition research.
