There's no doubt that milk marketers have done a wonderful job transforming milk from a staple into a beverage. But there's so much more that can be done. According to a hot-off-the-press report from Packaged Pacts, the flavored milk market has the potential to grow from an estimated $1.1 billion in 2001 to $1.8 billion by 2006. Compared to sales of other beverages such as soda and beer, this seems like pennies, but for a category that posted only $750 million in 1997, this is incredible growth.
