The issue of sustainability is a key one for many manufacturers, and for those companies that supply the dairy industry, it is a foundation principle, as most are based in agriculture. Diana Visser, senior sustainability director of Corbion, an ingredients supplier, notes, "As a bio-based company, sustainability has always been important to Corbion - since before the word 'sustainability' was first used. Throughout our history, spanning over 100 years, we have used renewable raw materials (including sugar cane, corn and sugar beet) and resource efficiency has been central to our business from the very start."
