The European Commission's latest €500 million support package for European farmers, finalised at a recent European Union (EU) committee in Brussels, will not ease the dairy crisis, European dairy groups have warned. "Production cuts is the label used to describe the current package of measures," says the EU farm lobby group European Milk Board (EMB)'s president Romuald Schaber, following the initial announcement of the plans this summer. "But merely €150m shall be used for measures to reduce milk production - not nearly enough in light of the severity of the current crisis." "If no long-term changes are implemented, we will go from one crisis to another," EMB vice president Sieta van Keimpema told Dairy Industries International. "Current policy leaves no room for anything else."

Exchange Rate Pass-Through in Transition Economies: The Case of the Republic of Macedonia Abstract: This paper investigates the relative costs and benefits associated with introducing a different exchange rate regime in the Republic of Macedonia.
