Dean Foods of the US posted a S1.6 billion (€1.17bn) loss as it took a large charge, in order to reflect a lower value for its fresh dairy business. Falling demand and prices for the dairy business have hurt its value, as well as increased costs for items such as but-terfat and energy inputs, reports say.Fonterra's Global Ingredients and Foodservice division managing director, Andrei Mikhalevsky, is leaving the business at the end of the year.
