Packaging is a topic which is generating a great deal of industry debate, sparked by several well-known dairy producers such as Wimm-Bill-Dann, Arla Foods and Dairy Crest citing spiralling prices in packaging materials such as high density polyethylene (HDPE) resin as a major factor in rising production costs. Increased oil prices have also led to higher transportation price pressures.
