Corporate networkers are accustomed to getting—am ignoring—the hard sell. When it comes to wireless data, that's been easy to do: Just filter out the hype and focus on the facts—high prices, poor performance, and kludgy configurations. But net managers who've written off wireless may want to reconsider. Over the past year vendors and service providers—eager to goose sales and break out of niche markets—have done more than polish their product pitches.
