Ten years later is better than never-or is it? That's probably what net managers are trying to decide in the wake of IBM's introduction earlier this year of High-Performance Router (HPR) code for its APPN architecture-itself unveiled in 1986. It's a tough call. Corporate networkers now have the option of moving away from APPN altogether and embracing IP. And even if they choose to implement HPR, they still have to decide whether to go with the true Blue code or opt for HPR from one of three leading routing vendors.
