An outsider looking in and examining bass in the 12-volt industry would define it as evolutionary and not revolutionary. After all, we've been using the same amplifier and speaker technology for nearly 100 years. However, if you are entrenched in the industry and in the install bays, you've witnessed the downsizing of amps. They run cool and put out tremendous power. We have also seen the downsizing of necessary woofer volume so they can maximize the bass while minimizing space. This all makes perfect evolutionary sense: The power of the amps increase, while the size of the subwoofers and enclosures decrease. For most customers who use their vehicles for other activities besides ground-pounding, it makes perfect sense. There is a gain in cabin room. Fuel economy goes up. And the trunk can now hold golf clubs. Let's check out some revolutionary products for making bass while taking up less space.
