Fifty two years ago a batch of young men, all aspirants to Commission in the Army entered the barbed wire precincts of Pakistan Military Academy Kakul. As soon as they crossed the gate they were addressed as Gentlemen Cadets with emphasis on the first part of the calling. This was a tag that implied few privileges but a host of obligations. It was PMA's way to introduce the new entrants to a life of burdens that awaited them.
