摘要

When a logistician in Kandahar identifies a better way of managing a process, how long does it take for that improvement to find its way through the system to produce a change in IS capability?Proven, manufacturing-style 'kanban' methods, coupled with social media, now offer a more effective way of capturing required changes and managing them through to realisation. The methods are proven in other industries and the distributed nature of the MoD's supply chain, often in the world's most dangerous places, means that applying social media techniques to business environments to support ways of managing change is not just entirely feasible but probably the most intuitive toolkit for the modern IT user.
