摘要

The care and support of disabled and injured personnel is causing a groundswell of public concern and is becoming a defining welfare issue for today's military establishment. Previously, with the help of the Army Families Federation and Sir Bert Ma-sis, DMJ has presented valuable information pertaining to . ccess provision for disabled personnel working and living in the defence estate. Taking the subject forward, Major General Sir Evelyn Webb-Carter, Controller of the Army Benevolent Fund, The Soldiers' Charity, explains why some of the most important questions on the subject also concern the provision of care in the longer term.rnWhile injured personnel are in the army, Sir Evelyn tells us, their remedial care is first class, but in the years following service the high levels of support cannot be allowed to slip, not least because the passing years tend to exacerbate injury. "At some stage," the General explains, "an injury will develop with age, which requires more treatment and will need more help.
