Morphological Analysis will be covered in detail in a subsequent section, and was covered comprehensively in earlier issues of the Design Methods Group's journals. Two methods developed and often used during recent decades are Brainstorming and Synectics. Both involve group activities in which each participant is supposed to be stimulated in thinking by the other participants. This is the key concept in both these methods: developing ideas among several people by inspiring ideas in one another in a structured discussion Brainstorming sessions are generally exhausted in 45 minutes plus or minus, while Synectics sessions contracted for by organizations might last several days, often at a retreat or conference.
