TheArabSpringopenedupsocialandpoliticalspacesforwomentomakedemandsforgenderquality,politicalandsocialreform,humanrights,andequality.Ithasproduced,changedandreinvigoratedcontestationsaroundspace,citizenship,femininity,religion,andsenseofbelonging,aswomenplayedanincreasinglysignificantroleintherevolutionaryprocessesanddevelopmentsintheregion.ThisarticlewillanalyzetheonlineandofflinecommunicationstrategiesthattheFebruary20thMovementemployedtoanswerthefollowingthreequestions:a)WhatisthenatureofgenderedbaseddemandsandhowaretheyarticulatedinFebruary20thmovement?;b)Howdidthemovement’sactivistsdiscursivelyconstructthegenderedsubjectsandwhatarethematerialeffectsofthediscourse;andlastly,c)Whatformsofexpression,tools,andchannelswereusedbyMoroccanwomenactiviststoensuretheinclusionofgender-relatedissuesanddemandsinpoliticalmovement?Toanswerthesequestions,thisqualitativestudywilltakeintoaccounttheprevailingpolitical,socialandeconomiccontextsofMorocco,inanattempttointerpretMoroccanwomenactivists’experiences,demands,opportunitiesandconstraintsandhowtheycontributetoredefiningthesewomen’sidentities,subjectivitiesandresistancesdifferently.ItusestextualandvisualanalysisofmediatedcommunicationmaterialsobtainedfromtheFebruary20thmovementdigitalcampaignvideosandwebsitetodocumentnotonlywomen’srepresentationwithintheFebruary20thmovementbutalsoexploresthevariouswayssubjectsaremateriallyanddiscursivelyconstitutedandcircumscribed.
