An investigation was conducted to determine the effect of tigernut based diets on the haematology and serum characteristics of broiler finisher. Two hundred and twenty five broiler birds were assigned to the five experimental diets in which tigernut meal replaced maize at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% respectively at 45 birds per treatment which was further sub-divided into 3 replicates of fifteen birds each in a completely randomized design. Results indicated a decrease in haematological values of Packed cell volume , Haemoglobin, Red blood cell and Mean cell volume as tigernut increased in diets (p0.05) among the treatment groups for globulin, cholesterol and bilirubin. This study showed that tigernut meal cannot totally replace maize in broiler finisher diets but could be tolerated up to 50% dietary inclusion without compromising the physiological status of the birds.
