My colleagues and I have been spending a lot of time exploringwhat a city of the future will look like.There are so many technologies, infrastructure constraints, andsocial aspects to consider, to say nothing of pressing issues suchas demographic shifts, aging infrastructure, and climate change.The trend for smart communities suggests the need for a digitaltransformation to allow decisions to be based on an abundance ofdata and made with greater agility. In smart communities, mobilitywill be a priority, and people and infrastructure will be constantlyconnected through the Internet of Things (IoT).
