摘要

The importance of dietary fat in the expression of multiple genes is clear. In the case of beef cattle, lipid in the form of fatty acids (saturated or unsaturated), vitamin A (mainly retinoic acid), or carotenoids (β-carotene, lutein, lycopen and their metabolites), is obtained constantly from dietary sources. This review attempts to summarize advances in the study of some of the transcription factors and their co- regulators, specifically coactivator PGC-1, which has been observed to affect the transcription of genes involved in energy homeostasis. The capacity of dietary lipids or their metabolic products, to influence PGC-1α, is due in part to the presence of an element of answer to PPAR in its genic promoter, which appears to be conserved in different species of mammals including bovines. It might be important to find nutrients or other types of compounds that could act as ligands of the factors of transcription of specific genes that control metabolic processes such as gluconeogenesis and lipolysis in ruminants, especially bovines, so that in the near future they might contribute to improved production performance of this species.
