摘要

Present study covers a.c. impedance investigations of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), carried-outon carbon fibre (CF) and Ru-modified CF tow materials. The HER was examined in 0.5 M H2SO4solution for surface-activated CF and electrochemically deposited Ru on Hexcel 12K CF towmaterials. Kinetics of the hydrogen evolution reaction were studied at room temperature, over thecathodic overpotential range: -100 to -800 mV vs. RHE. Corresponding values of the charge-transferresistance, the exchange current-density for the HER and other electrochemical parameters forexamined catalyst materials were recorded.
