Preparation and Research on the Performance of PPV/PVP/Au Composite Nanofibers by Electrospinning

Poly(phenylene vniylene)/polyvinylpyrrolidone/Au (PPV/PVP/Au) composite nanofibers withphotoelectric properties were prepared by compositing Au nanoparticles (NPs) with PVP and PPV viaelectrospinning technique. The results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmissionelectron microscopy (TEM) showed that the composite nanofibers had uniform and continuousmorphology and with the increase of Au content, the diameter of nanofibers decreased from 583 to 415nm. Au NPs were face-centered cubic structure with an average diameter of 21 nm, and their existencehad not affect the photoluminescence (PL) positions of PPV/PVP composites. The as-preparedPPV/PVP/Au composite nanofibers exhibited relatively high photoelectric intensity and they will havepotential applications in photoelectric field.
