Oriented texture La9.33Y0.67Si6O27 ceramic was successfully synthesized by laser rapid solidificationmethod. The La9.33Y0.67Si6O27 crystal was formed only after Yttrium was added into the La10Si6O27ceramic under the sintering of CO2 continuous wave laser. As for pure La10Si6O27, the oriented textureceramic could not be sinterable directly. Even the La10Si6O27 preparing by high temperature solid statereaction begins to decompose under laser sintering. The result shows that the suitable sintering laserpower of texture La9.33Y0.67Si6O27 ceramic is 400W. Thermal expansion coefficient of La9.33Y0.67Si6O27-6 -1 -6 -1 -6 -1 o o o is 7.710 K , 7.760 K and 7.830 K at 600 C, 650 C and 700 C, respectively. The cell withtextured La9.33Y0.67Si6O2 shows a better output power density than that of La10Si6O27.The data suggestthat the texture and lower thermal expansion La9.33Y0.67Si6O27 ceramic could be prepared by Yttriumsubstitution using laser sintering for the high oxide ion conduction.
