The Nigerian physical environment is generally subjected to various forms of abuse and debasement resulting towater and air pollution and soil degradation as evidenced by large number of heaps of domestic and industrialwastes in major and minor towns of the country. These heaps of refuge (waste) are attributed to inadequate andinefficient reverse logistics management programmes of firms. Hence this work is on reverse logisticsmanagement and environmental sustainability drive in Nigeria. The study generated data on the operations offirms in the food and drink industries and the marketing intermediaries and customers of the firms. These datawere evaluated and analyzed based on hypotheses using analysis of Variance and Pearson correlation coefficientstatistical tools. Findings based on the research work among others is that the firms operating in the food anddrinks industries in Nigeria are technologically biased in area of product quality for enhanced corporateefficiency and shareholders’ welfare at the expense of reverse logistics programmes to the detriment of thehealth standard of the general and specific target markets. The research thus recommends improved policies ofsocial responsibility for the firms as well as enhanced regulatory and supervisory functions of the reverselogistic management programme of the firms by government regulatory bodies. Results of this work if adoptedwill improve the health and environment standard of Nigeria and generate good public image for firms operatingin the country.
