Phosphorus is one of the most important nutrients in the onion crop. The aim of this study was to evaluate the yield of onion cultivars under phosphorus doses in organic growing. The experiment was established in the period from May to October of 2008. The experimental design was a completely randomized block in a 3 x 5 factorial scheme, composed of three cultivars (Brisa - IPA -12, Franciscana - IPA -10 and Alfa S?o Francisco) and five doses of phosphorus (0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 kg ha-1 of P2O5) with three replications. The Alfa S?o Francisco (42.8 t ha-1) and Brisa IPA-12 cultivars (41.8 t ha-1) showed the highest commercial bulb yield and fresh bulb mass (139.4 e 132.6 g bulbo-1, respectively) when compared to Francisca cultivar. There was no significant difference in yield commercial showed that changes of 37.9 t ha-1 in the absence of fertilization to 41.3 t ha-1 with 90 kg ha-1 P2O5, as well as for non-commercial yield production and number of commercial bulbs per square meter.
