Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical effect of comprehensive nursing intervention in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) complicated with respiratory failure. Methods A total 90 COPD patients combined with respiratory failure were randomly divided into study group and control group, with 45 cases in each group. Both two groups were given routine nursing care, and the study group was given comprehensive nursing intervention additionally. The nursing efficacy and improvement in pulmonary function were compared between two groups. Results The study group received a better improvement in pH level, PaO2, oxyhemoglobin saturation and PaCO2 compared with the control group after intervention (P＜0.01). The overall nursing efficacy rate was 95.56% in the study group and was 73.33% in the control group, with a significant difference (P＜0.05). Conclusion comprehensive nursing intervention can improve the pulmonary function and clinical efficacy for patients with COPD complicated with respiratory failure.
