摘要

Using data from “Citizens Awareness Survey“ conducted by Akita local government in 2015, this study examines factors onresidents? attachment to community. Community attachment is measured in terms of local environment, nature, culture, and medical care,and residence years. Results of the empirical analyses show that all factors are significantly contributing for residents to develop and tohave a stronger attachment to their community. Among them, “natural environment” had the most influence on the degree of attachmentto the area. It seems that people in Akita are proud of the richness of their nature world, which leads to their attachment to the local area.
