Background: Developing Teaching Material of Business Statistics and Research Methods for Students in Aviation IndustryManagement Program Objective: The research aims to explain the development of teaching material titled “Business Statistics andResearch Methods,” which has been taught the students in Aviation Industry Management (A.I.M.) program, Aviation PersonnelDevelopment Institute (APDI), Thailand. In the research, it showed the process of developing the teaching material according to therequirement of both academic Thai Qualification Framework (TQF) and Aviation Industry Management contexts. The process of thedevelopment of this teaching material was from the previous experience of the lecturer, gathering data and information from business andeconomics of Aviation Industry Management. After that, the researcher combined and organized the contents based on the course outline,specifying the overall contents and expected learning outcomes for the students. Results: In the end, the lecturer completed the teachingmaterial titled “Business Statistics and Research Methods,” containing 10 chapters as 1) Business Statistics and Research Methods 2)Measure of Central Tendency and Dispersion, 3) Set and Counting Techniques, 4) Probability and Sampling, 5) Estimation of PopulationParameters, 6) Hypothesis Testing, 7) Chi-Square Distribution and Analysis of Variance, 8) Regression and Correlation, 9) Time SeriesAnalysis and Index Number and 10) Decision Theory. In addition, the researcher used this teaching material in the classroom for asemester and studied the satisfaction of the developed teaching material by questionnaire and interview to the sampled students.Conclusion: The result showed that the students were satisfied in overall contents provided in this teaching material, particularlyunderstandable examples from the industry. They increased positive attitude towards business statistics and research methods. Theyrealized the benefits of studying business statistics and research methods in aviation industry management in both micro and macro level.
