http://dx.doi.org/10.5902/223613083323 The Universidade Federal de Santa Maria-RS, is a Public Institution of Higher Educationwhich aims to professional qualifications of students from a teaching-learning with a scientific andtechnological quality. Thinking about this democratize education, UFSM always seeks theimplementation of new courses. Thus, seeking a reduction in social and cultural differences, UFSMthrough Distance Education programs developed by UAB (Open University of Brazil), implementsthe Specialization Course in Environmental Education for Distance Learning (ODL). The purpose ofthis monograph is to identify the profile of candidates and graduates of this course. TheSpecialization Course in Environmental Education in UFSM EaD was implemented by the year2008, reaching a total of five (5) poles in the activated state of Rio Grande do Sul in 2009. Thesepoles are in the municipalities of Agudo, Cacequi, Panambi, Sao Sepe and Sapiranga. We analyzedthe profile of candidates for the course, students and graduates, some dropouts. Using a?methodology of quantified data and information externalized by these students throughquestionnaires.
