Thesingle-degeneratemodelfortheprogenitorsoftypeIasupernovae(SNeIa)isoneofthetwomostpopularmodels,inwhichacarbona€“oxygenwhitedwarfaccreteshydrogen-richmaterialfromitscompanion,increasesitsmasstotheChandrasekharmasslimit,andthenexplodesasaSNIa.IncorporatingtheprescriptionofHachisuetal.(1999a,ApJ,519,314)fortheaccretionefficiencyintoEggletona€?sstellarevolutioncodeandassumingthattheprescriptionisvalidforallmetallicities,wecarriedoutadetailedbinaryevolutionstudywithdifferentmetallicities.WeshowedtheinitialandfinalparameterspaceforSNeIaina(log$$P$$a€“$$M_{ m2}$$)plane.Thepositionsofsomefamousrecurrentnovaeinthe(log$$P$$a€“$$M_{2}$$)plane,aswellasasupersoftX-raysource(SSS),RXJ0513.9$$-$$6951arewellexplainedbyourmodel,andourmodelcanalsoexplainthespacevelocityandmassofTychoG,whichisnowsuggestedtobeacompanionstarofTychoa€?ssupernova.OurstudyindicatesthataSSS,VSge,isapotentialprogenitorofsupernovae,likeSN2002ic,ifthedelayeddynamical-instabilitymodelinHanandPodsiadlowski(2006,MNRAS,368,1095)isappropriate.
