Wepresenthigh-resolutionimagesoftheRingNebulaintheH?±,V,andBbandstakenwiththeSubarutelescope.TheH?±imagerevealsthefinestructureoftheinnerandouterhalosinunprecedenteddetail.TheinnermostpartoftheinnerhalojustoutsideofthemainringmaybeidentifiedasanewcomponentintermsofthesurfacebrightnesshierarchyseenintheRingNebula.Afilamentarystructureconsistingofloopsandknots,whichgivesapetal-likeappearancetotheinnerhalo,isalsoseeninthisnewcomponent.Theouterhaloisfoundtoshowalimb-brightenedknottystructuresimilartotheinnerhalo,butatmuchfainterlevels.Thetypicalsizeoftheknots,however,isclearlydifferentbetweenthetwohalos.ThemediansizemeasuredontheH?±imageis1a€3.2and3.a€32intheinnerandouterhalos,respectively.Thecorrespondinglifetime,whichisdefinedbythesizedividedbythethermalvelocity,is400yearsand1200years.Thetri-colorimagewasmadewithH?±,V,andBimagesafterbeingsharpenedbythemaximum-entropymethod.TheimageshowsthefinestructureofthemainringandtheenhancedbandsofemissionrunningacrossthecentralholewitharesolutioncomparabletotheimagetakenwiththeHubbleSpaceTelescope.Thefeaturesnewlyfoundinthepresentimagesmaygivesomesupport,butmorechallenges,totheunifiedmodelproposedbyGuerreroetal.
