Gamma-rayemittingsolarflaresobservedwithYohkohwereanalyzedfromastatisticalviewpoint.Thefour-bandhardX-ray(15a€“95a€‰keV)photometricdata,takenwiththeHardX-rayTelescopeonboardYohkoh,wereutilizedincombinationwiththespectro-photometricgamma-ray(0.2a€“30a€‰MeV)dataobtainedwiththeGamma-RaySpectrometer.TheGOESclasswasalsoincorporated.Outof2788X-rayflaresobservedfrom1991Octoberto2001December,178eventswithstronghardX-rayemissionwereselected.Amongthem,40flareswerefurtherfoundtoshowsignificantgamma-rayemission.Afractaldimensionanalysisandmulti-bandcolora€“colorplotsofthe40flaressuggestthattheirsoftX-raytoMeVgamma-rayspectralenergydistributionsinvolveatleastfourindependentparameters.Theseare:(1)theoverallflaresize;(2)therelativeintensitiesofthethermalvs.non-thermalsignals;(3)thegamma-raytohardX-rayintensityratio;and(4)thehardX-rayspectralslope.Theseresultsareexaminedforpossibleselectioneffects.Also,themeaningsofthethirdparameterarebrieflyconsidered.
