Turbidity is a measure of cloudiness in water and is a good indicator of water quality. In this paper, we present a real time image processing computer system for monitoring turbidity. Using image processing, the system continuously analyzes water samples to measure turbidity based on the attenuation of light passing through the water samples. Recent turbidity readings were recorded in the form of a graphs and text files. Linear regression analysis was used on measurements derived from 10 water samples with low to moderate turbidity, and it was determined that 94.35 percent of the variation in the actual turbidity is explained by the turbidity measurements obtained through the system. With the addition of three water samples with high turbidity, the strength of linear relationship was increased to 97.76 percent.
