摘要

Rabeprazole sodium, a 4-(3-methoxypropoxy)-3-methylpyridinyl derivative of timoprazole, is a protonpump inhibitor that is used for the treatment of acid-peptic diseases, such as duodenal, gastric andesophageal ulceration. 1,2 A simple, decisive andresponsive reverse phase liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method was developed and validated forassaying rabeprazole sodium. The main purpose ofthe present study was to establish a relatively simple,single step and inexpensive HPLC method for thedetermination of rabeprazole sodium in tablet dosageform, since most of the previous methods have beenfound to be relatively complicated and expensive.This proposed method has been validated as per ICHguidelines. 3 The developed method has been found tobe rapid and sensitive which can be used to determinethe potency of rabeprazole sodium in bulk andpharmaceutical dosage form.
