摘要

One hundred and eighty non sexed one day old Arber Acer chicks were randomly allotted into six experimental groups (30 chicks/group), received one out of the different experimental diets during the experimental period (6 weeks). The first group (control) fed on the basal diet without choline supplementation and the second group fed on the basal diet containing the full choline requirement from synthetic source while, other experimental groups fed on diet where 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of synthetic choline replaced by herbal choline source for groups 3-6 respectively. It was observed that synthetic choline supplementation significantly improved final body weight by about 9.5% when compared with chick fed on the basal diet without choline supplementation. Moreover, replacement of 50% synthetic choline by herbal source improved broiler chick body gain, feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency ratio, efficiency of energy utilization and performance index more than other experimental groups. Also it was observed that both synthetic choline and herbal choline supplementation (group 2-6) non significantly increased blood serum total protein, concentration by about (4.2%, 3.2%, 1.7%, 1.0% and 2.7) respectively when compared with broiler chick fed on the basal diet without choline supplementation while, had variable and non-significant effect on albumin and glucose blood serum concentration. On the other hand herbal choline supplementation instead of synthetic choline (groups 3-6) non-significantly improved blood serum globulin when compared with broiler chick group fed on the basal diet without or with synthetic supplementation. Moreover, it was noticed that choline supplementation had no significant effect of differential leukocytic counts with slight improvement of neutophil percentage especially with 50% inclusion of herbal choline which, reflected on the higher antibody production and improvement off immune organs relative weight when compared with other treatment. Also choline supplementation reduce liver fat content than chick group fed on the basal diet without choline supplementation.
