摘要

Four series of some new Schiff bases formed from reaction of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde with 2-hydroxy benzaldhyde and diamino propane have been prepared and characterized. The structure of the synnthesised compounds was confirmed by elemental analysis (CHN), UV-visible, infrared and 1H-NMR techniques. The antioxidant activity of the prepared compounds was studied using scavenger technique. The results indicate that the new Schiff base compounds are very effective as rdical scavengers compared with standarad ascorbic acid (ASC). Keywards: Schiff bases, Synthesis, Antioxidant activity
