Evaluation of the Marginal Microleakage of Endocrown Fabricated with Three Different Processing Technologies

This study evaluates endocrown marginal microleakage fabricated by three technologies of selective laser melting,cast and CAD/CAM milling. Method: Twenty four intact extracted molars are selected, and casting( Group A) and selective laser melting(Group B) and CAD/CAM milling(Group C) is used to make separately eight cobalt-chromium alloy porcelain endocrowns. After experiencing 5000 times of thermocycling, immersed in a 2.0% basic red fuchsine dye solution for 24 hours. Sectioned along the buccolingual, observing restoration margin dye leakage by stereomicroscope, microleakage depth of each group were recorded. Data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and multiple Duncan comparison (α=0.05).Results: There were significant difference (P&0.01) among each group of different processing technologies. Interblock comparison among group A, B and C,groupB (1109.4156um)&groupC(1587.0531um)&group A(1985.2438um).Conclusion: Cobalt-chromium alloy porcelain endocrown marginal microleakage fabricated by selective laser melting technology is superior to endocrown fabricated by cast and milling.
