In this paper, we investigate the formulation of open coupled electro–magnetic field with heat diffusion within the General Equilibrium Non–Equilibrium Reversible Irreversible Couplings, GENERIC, formulation. This two–potentials structured representation is developed to include the two fundamental laws of thermodynamics. The first potential is associated to the total energy of the system and the energy conservation law. The second one is a metric potential expressed the system evolution and is associated to the total entropy of the system and the entropy balance equation. In this contribution, we first define the to boundary formulation of GENERIC and then the two equivalent representations of a Tokamak plasma diffusion model in whose dynamics are governed by Maxwell’s equations coupled to a heat diffusion equation. The main coupling is the plasma resistivity.
