ABSTRACT This study was designed to evaluate the effect of long-term oral administration of aqueous Phaseolus vulgaris pods extract on pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines profile in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. The results indicate that administration of the extract in dose of 200 mg/kg to diabetic rats resulted in significant lowering of blood glucose level along with a reduction of HbA1c content. It was revealed that hypoglycemic effect of studied extract was not related with the ab.
