摘要

Origin of 2019-nCoV outbreak in Wuhan, China still unknown. However, it is believed associated with bat and pangolin and having possibilities of human-to-human transmission by direct contact and droplets. Common symptoms include sore throat, fever, cough and shortness of breath, while some of the patients also reported headache, hemoptysis, and diarrhea. There is no definitive treatment and vaccines expect hope with newer antiviral drugs. Therefore, 2019-nCoV infection prevention and control is only the solution of this health problem. The infection prevention and control strategies for this disease include having updated SOP of 2019-nCoV infection prevention and control, training of HCWs, appropriate use of PPE, regular hand hygiene, appropriate waste management, respiratory and cough etiquettes, regular environmental cleaning and decontamination, hospital visitor’s education and control etc. This paper present brief description and epidemiology of diseases with significant detailed emphasis on evidence based infection prevention and control guidelines for 2019-nCoV.
