The paper deals with the question how the Baden-Württemberg State Archives pro-vide access to their cartographic and geographic records. It outlines what a digital archive in-frastructure for the access to these records should look like in the future and points out steps that the State Archives have taken towards such an infrastructure. A crowdsourcing project had an important role to play in this process.
