摘要

The worldwide COVID-19 (novel coronavirus)pandemic has created an unpredicted andunexperienced chain reaction for our humanspecies Homo sapiens due to “social distancing” andcommunity lockdowns. The situation is far beyondour “business as usual” mode and has become our“everyday functioning”. The pandemic is putting extreme pressure on healthcare systems and is significantly changing the economy, due to the lockdownof the workforce, therefore reducing the supply (output of industry), consumer demand for supplies, aswell as consumer earnings and buying power. Therefore, the resulting reduced gross domestic product(GDP) will change the lives of individuals and communities, both small and large, not only for the nextcouple of months but for years.
