摘要

Some novel anti-inflammatory entities derived from 5, 5’-methylenebis (benzofuran-5,2-diyl))bis(phenylmethanone, the structures of these compounds were elucidated by FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and Mass spectral analysis. Furthermore, all the compounds were evaluated for their activity using the carrageenan-induced rat paw edema method. Among the synthesized compounds, 4b, 4d, 4f, 6a and 6c showed significant (p 0.01) reduction of rat paw edema volume, 4b & 6c showed the maximum anti-inflammatory activity after 24 h from the admin of the carrageenan compared to the standard drug, Ibuprofen.
