摘要

—An adaptive technique adopting hierarchicalgenetic algorithms (HGA) for wideband antenna impedancetuning is presented in the paper. Three simulation examplesare given for GSM, UMTS and both standards, withdifferent types of antenna impedance. The frequency rangeof the dual standards is from 1.7 to 2.2GHz. Simulationresults show that the proposed tuning technique can achievegood accuracy of impedance matching and load power. Thereflection coefficient and VSWR obtained are also very closeto their ideal values. Comparison of the proposed HGAtuning method with conventional genetic algorithm basedtuning method is also given, which shows that the HGAtuning algorithm is much faster. Moreover, the proposedmethod can be useful for software defined radio systemsusing a single antenna for multiple mobile and wirelessbands.
