Lately it seems that everywhere I go people are talkingabout 2020. They can’t believe it’s been two decadessince the world worried about Y2K or that the oldestmillennials—including yours truly—are closing in on 40.NASIG also celebrates a milestone in 2020, as this yearmarks 35 years since our first meeting. As we approachthe midpoint of our fourth decade, we enjoy the fruitsthat a mature organization has to offer: an establishedreputation, a solid member base, and the guidance ofthe leaders who have helped chart our course. But as amature organization, we also face certain challenges,particularly those of staying fresh and adapting to ourchanging profession. The work of the organization thisyear embodies both of these themes—honoringtradition and moving forward.
